Flagship Store Refurbishment

Floris London

Challenge

To renew the iconic Grade II listed Floris store founded in 1730 – Jermyn street, London. The British Family Perfumers Floris were committed to undertake the first renovation of the shop in over 100 years.

Sonder, already working with Floris to deliver its three dimensional branding were asked to deploy their knowledge of the brand and its history to embrace the future aspirations of the Family and sympathetically reimagine the historic store.

Floris

Insight

This was a once in a lifetime project, an untouched historic venue known and loved worldwide. Some clientele you may have heard of range from Ian Fleming, Marilyn Monroe and our very own Queen. As Floris hold not one, but two Royal Warrants every detail had to be considered in a way never conserved before.

With the building being grade II listed Sonder Design worked closely with the Planning Department and English Heritage, we selected a team of skilled craftsmen and worked with bespoke suppliers of the most luxurious and quality materials. From our initial brief developed with the client, we were able to build the foundations and deliver what you see here today  – a true piece of history.

“I have worked with Sonder for nearly five years and in that time we have built up a close relationship delivering some of the most innovative projects that I’ve had the fortune to work on. The work we’ve done has been built on collaboration and creative partnership, but based on Sonder’s passion for finding solutions and ultimately delivering design excellence.”

Euroshop

Amtico

Challenge

EuroShop is the world’s largest retail trade fair, hosted in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Amtico came to Sonder to create a showcase for their rebrand, to demonstrate their design focussed products with industry leading functionality.

Amtico

Insight

The space designed and built for them was a sleek and simple double deck, using abstract forms and materials.

The ground floor included strategically placed interactive elements allowing Amtico’s customers to engage with their products.   As a focus to the stand we designed a bespoke interactive area where visitors were encouraged to design their own abstract art, influenced from the Amtico’s new product pallets. Their creation was instantly emailed to them and was also displayed on the LED wall which created an ever changing focal point to the stand. This interactive initiative enabled the Amtico sales force to make contact and follow-up with leads post show, via the built in data capture that plug directly into the internal CRM.

The upper deck incorporated an artisan coffee area, relaxed meeting space and two private meeting rooms.

Abacus

Challenge

Abacus, leaders in lighting solutions asked us to work alongside their branding agency, to project their new brand within a three dimensional space – a challenging stand footprint of three meters by 13 meters.

Abacus

Insight

Sonder Design created a striking tunnel, which was internally lit using Abacus’ range of products. From the outside visitors would be drawn in by glimpses of the internal space. The contrast of the dark and the light framed the campaign imagery as well as their lighting products which shone from within.

National Sales Showroom

Canon

Challenge

With the expanding range of products in the Canon portfolio, the requirement was to update their already successful national showroom in central London. Canon approached Sonder Design to develop the space in order to stay ahead of their competitors.

Canon Sales Showroom

Insight

We worked with Canon to research the existing space, involving interviews with their customers and staff to understand how they currently used the space. We looked into how future business plans may change the shape of the space, as well as allowing for ever changing products to be displayed.

The space was derigged completely, in order to create a blank canvas. One of the obstacles we came up against was how to implement a new interior on the 7th floor with only a small goods lift for access, seamlessly and within a tight schedule of ten weeks from concept to completion.

Delivered

A fully researched, designed and implemented space consisting of 540 square meters, across an open plan layout.

The space includes:

  • Meet and greet reception area with iconic views over London

  • Relaxed waiting area offering self-service refreshments

  • Product display area allows for 25 live demonstrations, designed to enable staff to showcase the relevant products for the scheduled clients, easily updating as required

  • Theatre space allows a 360 degree immersive experience, designed with noise and light control to allow both spaces to be simultaneously used without interference

  • Private meeting & conference rooms
