Miller Harris

Flagship Store

Retail Interior • Build • Project Management

Miller Harris asked us to redesign their Monmouth Street boutique in Seven Dials, London. The project went further than a refit. It became the foundation for how the Miller Harris brand expresses itself in physical retail globally.

At 24 square metres, the Monmouth Street boutique is compact. The existing store had become tired, with a disjointed layout and little consideration for how customers actually moved through and experienced the space. Every square metre needed to work harder, without losing the considered feel the brand demands.

We started by developing a set of retail design principles to define how Miller Harris should exist in a physical environment. Monmouth Street was the first store to be built around these principles, which have since been applied to future retail projects, point of sale and other physical brand touchpoints.

The redesign included a full fit out, new shop floor, units, ceiling, lighting design and window and store dressings, all developed to reflect the current Miller Harris brand and create a more deliberate customer journey.

Following completion, Miller Harris reported that sales at the Monmouth Street boutique had approximately doubled. The guiding principles developed for this project continue to inform how the brand approaches its physical retail environments.
